The Chapel That Was Hiding by My Car All Along

After capturing perfect sunrise at Cameo Island Bridge in Zakynthos, I could have headed back for breakfast, mission accomplished. Instead, I chose to embrace another hour of that incomparable Mediterranean morning light.

That's when I discovered what had been hiding in plain sight since my pre-dawn arrival - a charming sandstone chapel standing quietly beside my parking spot at Agios Sostis harbor. Sometimes the most memorable images are those we never planned to capture.

This tiny sanctuary, barely large enough for my daughter Gracie and me to enter simultaneously, revealed itself in gentle morning glow. Warm light accentuated every texture of its weathered facade, creating perfect harmony between architecture and environment.

What fascinates me most? Despite research, I've found little historical information about this unusual chapel. Its age, story, the hands that shaped it from local stone remain unknown. This absence of history only enhances its allure, inviting viewers to create their own narrative.

Following my photographic journey means joining me in these moments of discovery - where patience reveals overlooked treasures beyond obvious landmarks.
