"Where Ancient Prayers Meet Morning Light"
Why I Shot This Sacred Temple in 9 Separate Frames
The Acropolis above Lindos holds 3,000 years of continuous worship. Before Greeks arrived, prehistoric peoples felt divine presence on this clifftop. Later came shrines to Athena, Zeus, Apollo, and Dionysus - a complete pantheon watching over the ancient city.
Standing in gentle morning light, watching the same sun that's risen over these columns for millennia, I felt the weight of that continuity. Even after the classical world faded, this remained sacred. Byzantine Christians built their church among the ruins. Medieval knights constructed fortresses on these foundations.
For my vision of this historic temple with St Paul's Bay below and distant Mediterranean coast, I decided to capture 9 separate frames and assemble them into the final image. This technique meant I could show this incredible view exactly as I wanted - without compromise.
This is why a lot of my photography takes time to perfect. I planning my compositions that honor both the technical requirements and the spiritual significance of these ancient places. Each frame serves the final vision.
A magical location I desperately want to experience on one of my dawn shoots - if only it were open to the public at sunrise.
