There's something special about witnessing a place awaken—when ancient streets still hold the night's secrets and morning light begins its gentle transformation.

I found myself alone in Lindos' winding alleys just after dawn—well, not entirely alone. As always in Greece, my faithful feline companions appeared as if summoned, curious observers of the "funny chap" with a camera navigating their territory at this unusual hour.

What drew me to this particular scene wasn't just the architectural charm of the whitewashed walls or the way the narrow passage frames the distant sea. It was something unexpected: the freshly washed cobblestones, still glistening from the cleaning crew's early efforts.

These stones, polished by centuries of footsteps, now captured perfect reflections of the warm dawn sky—mirrors to the heavens laid at my feet.

This is why I return to these timeless places in these quiet hours: to discover the extraordinary in seemingly ordinary moments. The transformation of something as simple as wet cobblestones can create an entirely new visual narrative, adding depth and luminosity to a scene I'd photographed before.
