Clearing Clouds at Cameo Island

Image
When the Clouds Cleared: A Perfect Morning on Cameo Island Photography requires instinct—knowing when to press the shutter and when to wait. This October morning in Zakynthos taught me that patience often delivers the greatest rewards. Cameo Island Bridge had captured my imagination during pre-trip research, promising the perfect blend of natural beauty and human architecture that defines my fine art photography. With sunrise coming later in autumn, I enjoyed a more civilized start than summer's 4:30am wake-ups—though still early enough to arrive before anyone else. What made this morning special wasn't just the location but sharing it with my 16-year-old daughter Gracie, whose behind-the-scenes documentation came with refreshingly unfiltered teenage commentary that broke my usual contemplative silence. We arrived at Agios Sostis harbor while darkness still enveloped everything. Setting up my equipment, we weathered a brief shower—a gift that delivered those dramatic clouds so ...

Perched On The Chapel At Dawn

"Golden Light and Serene Discoveries in Lindos" An early morning in Lindos revealed this calming scene: warm street lamps, a peaceful chapel, and a hidden bird I missed until post-production. Why I Shot the Same Archway Twice (A Year Apart)

Image
Archway Into The Old Town This was my second visit to shoot this beautiful archway in the old town of Rhodes. The first time here a year or so before produced an image that just didn't work the way I had envisioned, and I knew I'd never be happy unless I returned to shoot here again. I arrived in the dark and set up my camera a little too early for a shot like this where more dawn light in the sky is ideal. I however used the time to explore a few angles and dial in my ideal composition, then waited. I greeted a few people walking through the arch who looked like they'd experienced a good night on the town and were definitely ready for bed! As soon as the light was where I wanted it, I started shooting and covering several angles. Once satisfied I had the image I wanted, I packed my gear and headed to my next location to capture the sunrise "Where Antiquity Whispers" Short video stories from photographing ancient sites and contemplative landscapes. A Quiet Corner In The Old Town

Image
A Quiet Corner In The Old Town I captured this corner of the old town one evening while wandering with my family. While my wife and children entered yet another shop, I decided to explore what was down a side street. I came to this small square and noticed a small empty chair. Remarkably tranquil considering it was just a stone's throw from the heaving streets of people enjoying shops and restaurants. I'm not entirely sure why I was drawn to it, but I felt compelled to capture a few frames. It felt like a wonderful place some hard-working person uses to take a break from their hectic long summer days serving tourists. Not every photograph needs to be about grand vistas or dramatic light. Sometimes it's just a quiet moment that catches your eye for reasons you can't quite explain. Why This One Image Required 48 Separate Shots (And Climbing a Wall at 4am)

Image
Why This One Image Required 48 Separate Shots (And Climbing a Wall at 4am) Greek Wedding Chapel Lindos Rhodes St Pauls bay is located at the beautiful village of Lindos and It sits below the natural citadel and Acropolis of Lindos. Located in the picturesque bay is the Greek Orthodox Wedding Chapel of St Pauls located on the water's edge. This beautiful chapel and stunning location attracts weddings here from all over the world. I decided I wanted to capture the chapel and the idyllic location and set out at 4 am to get to Lindos before sunrise. It was still very dark as I arrived at Lindos and as I drove slowly down a dimly lit steep hill towards the bay two black goats frightened the life out of me as they poked their heads up out of a bin they were stood up against !...yep, I was now fully awake! I arrived at the bottom of the bay and at the chapel gates, it was every bit as beautiful as I anticipated which isn't always the case with places I research. The gates were locked ...
